MOLE VALLEY SPORTS COUNCIL

The Mole Valley Sports Council (MVSC) aims to promote sport throughout the District of Mole Valley, encourage youth participation in sport and assist, as much as possible, all clubs, societies, schools, colleges and sporting individuals in their quest for sporting success and participation. It is an independent body, administered by Mole Valley District Council.

OUR OBJECTIVES

 The Sports Council's primary objectives include the following:

  • To assess the sports and recreational needs of the Mole Valley District and to help with providing for these needs.
  • To examine the need for improving existing facilities and to offer advice to Mole Valley District Council and other organisations on the provision of new facilities.
  • To assist with the dissemination of information on available sports and recreational facilities and opportunities and to maintain an up-to-date record of sports organisations.
  • To provide the District Council and any other interested organisation with a body of opinion reflecting generally the views of local sports interests on matters concerning the development of sport and recreation in the District.
  • In consultation and collaboration with the Local Education Authority, local schools and other bodies to encourage school leavers, youth and adults to continue to take part in sports and recreational activities.
  • To take such action as the Sports Council deems appropriate on reports and recommendations from any organisations dealing with sports in the District. To work in conjunction with those in the public and private sports sectors with a view to achieving a co-ordinated policy for the promotion of sport within the District.
  • To administer and allocate local sports grants through agreed criteria from monies that may be available to the Sports Council including those form public funds for this purpose.
